Students have the choice of studying at one of the three campus locations: Manhattan, Dobbs Ferry or Bronx for their degree study. Our International embedded college, home to our pathway programs is at the Manhattan campus, in the heart of the city life.

Dobbs Ferry, nestled along the Hudson River on a 66 scenic acre campus has a vibrant student life as well as being home to the Mavericks teams. This is the perfect place to watch a game, catch up with friends or make use of the sports facilities and large library.

  • Dobbs Ferry, just a 40 minute train ride from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, is located along the Hudson River and includes a stunning central library as well newly renovated sporting facilities for students to use.
  • The Bronx campus is centrally located, nestled in the Hutchinson Metro Center, and is surrounded by Yankee stadium, the Bronx Zoo and the gorgeous New York Botanical Gardens.

Dobbs Ferry is home to 10 NCAA Division II Athletic teams with facilities such as: newly renovated Victory Hall gymnasium, Hudson Hall fitness centre, multi-use fields and tennis courts.

There are several options for living on campus at Mercy College – whether you’re in a residence hall on the Dobbs Ferry Campus or our brand new Dorm34 at MercyManhattan, there’s something for everyone.

Dorm34 is Mercy College’s Manhattan living space for our International pathway students. When you stay on campus in Dorm34, you’ll enjoy the benefits of life in New York City, only a few minutes away from your studies. It’s an affordable solution for your time at MercyManhattan.

Dobbs Ferry students have the option to apply for on site accommodation in the student community on campus. Founders Hall is mainly for first year freshman students from both US and overseas. With shared bedrooms and bathrooms, the set up is ideal for student interaction and engagement.

All residential students have access to community lounges, dining services, computer labs, library study space, sporting facilities and student societies.

If you choose not to live on campus, New York has almost limitless possibilities for accommodation, all connected to the campus by one of the best transit networks in the world.

Your experience at Mercy

Study at Mercy College and Mercy College International might be slightly different to the structure that international students are used to outside the US.

Undergraduate students should plan to take a four-year degree program of study. A student in their first year is known as a Freshman, and in their second year as a Sophomore. The third and fourth years are Junior and Senior years respectively.

Postgraduate students study for one year as a Freshman, and may take additional pathway study before their Freshman year starts.

Undergraduate students in their Freshman year take individual general education courses to prepare them for future years of study at Mercy College. International pathway students take additional courses in their Freshman year to boost their English Language skills ready to start as a Sophomore. Students have the flexibility to leave the final decision about what majors they wish to study in their degree program until they have completed their Freshman year.

 

Postgraduate students choose from a selection of Mercy College graduate degree programs for just one Freshman year. International pathway students may take up to three terms, or semesters, of additional study at Mercy College International before they start their Freshman year. Four different graduate pathway routes prepare these students for a range of grad programs at Mercy College.

From the first day you are accepted into Mercy College, you will be assigned a personal mentor who can advises and inspire you, to help you reach your full potential. The mentorship program will play a key role in helping you navigate the twists and turns of your time at Mercy College. Your mentor is there to help you choose the right major, understand degree requirements and register for classes, track your academic progress, develop leadership skills and to discuss your career dreams and how to get there.

Campus is home to over 50 student clubs clubs, activities, and organizations. Whether you’re interested in art, cultural, professional development, sports, religious or social activities, Mercy College has something for you.

Mercy College International

Pathway programs at Mercy College International prepare students for their future degree program at Mercy College with general education courses and English Language support.

With tailored academic and English Language support, international students who complete their pathway program should be ready to join a Mercy College degree program. The undergraduate pathway program replaces an international student’s first Freshman year of study, so that the total length of study is the same as joining Mercy College directly. Mercy College International Graduate pathway programs add up to 3 semesters of pathway study before students take a year of Grad studies at Mercy College. Pathway programs are based at MercyManhattan in the heart of New York City.

Mercy College International provides students with the option to study an International Year One undergraduate pathway program, or a Pre-Master's postgraduate pathway program. We have one Mercy College International Undergraduate Program (IY1) and four Mercy College International Graduate Programs (Pre-Master's).

International students can apply to join Mercy College for undergraduate or graduate study.
