The International Year One (IY1) provides an intensive combination of first year university subject modules with extra study and English language skills. The IY1 is the equivalent to your first year of study at undergraduate level, upon successful completion, you will continue to the second year of your chosen degree at study at the University of your choice.
The International Year One is the perfect pathway if you want a undergraduate degree from a UK, EU or US University but do not meet the requirements for direct entry.

Following successful completion of the IY1 you will continue onto your second year degree study directly with the University of your choice.
If you don’t meet the English language level and academic skills required for an undergraduate degree at a UK, EU or US university, then an International Year One programme is the right path to still study at the University of your choice and while achieving the required academic skills.

Following your international first year you can then choose to move onto The School of Liberal Arts at Mercy College, students into academic areas such as History and English, and in more applied fields such as Cybersecurity and Music Production and Recording Arts.
