BUIC is an embedded college on the Bangor University campus. Here, you can do the first stage of your integrated Bachelors or Masters course in a broad range of subjects before completing your degree at Bangor University. As a BUIC student, you will have access to all university services and facilities so will feel part of the university from the day you start.
Bangor University is a traditional university with a longstanding reputation of excellence. The University also has several modern state-of-the-art facilities. Bangor is a student city located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a low cost, quiet and safe place, that is ideal for studying.
As College Director of BUIC, I am committed to ensuring that you receive the best possible learning and teaching experience. You will study with students from all over the world. Our dedicated team of academic staff and experienced tutors will help you adjust to academic life in the UK so that you are ready to transition seamlessly into university. Our tutors focus on developing your English language and academic study skills as well as core subject knowledge. Our classes are typically small and interactive in nature. You will receive a lot of individual support and regular feedback on your academic performance. All of this will help you to increase your confidence in communicating in a higher education context and put you on the path to both academic success and future career success.
At BUIC, we are incredibly proud of the high level of individualised support that we provide to all our students on every step of the student journey, from pre-arrival to post-departure. Our committed team of support staff are here to support you on a range of matters concerned with life as an international student. We will ensure that you feel looked after and part of the BUIC family.
BUIC is now fully open to students. Bangor University, libraries, social spaces, and sports facilities are also all open for students to use and enjoy. For the September 2022 intake, the 3 October 2022 for BUIC, all teaching will continue be in-person and on-campus. You will not be able to join your classes online as lessons are not being live streamed. You will be expected to travel to Bangor for the start of term on 3 October 2022 so that you can join your classes on time. Before you arrive, you will need to arrange to live in Bangor or no more than an hour from Bangor so that you can attend all your on-campus classes. We look forward to welcoming you to BUIC soon.
